Developed real-time ASL sign recognition system using ML & CV algorithms (YOLOv8, PyTorch, TensorFlow) to improve communication between the hearing and hearing-impaired communities.
Gathered 6k+ images of sign language symbols, utilizing RoboAI to assign meaning to symbols, incorporating Random Forest, PyTorch, & Deep Learning models to recognize input, evaluating accuracy & speed.
Finalized YOLOv8 as highest performing model with 93.8% accuracy, achieving real-time translation of sign language to text.
